Avene Thermal Water Spray

These reviews are a long time coming but i really feel that with skin care you've got to thoroughly test a product out. A week or two isn't quite enough as skin(well mine any way!) is always changing. Avene have a very large choice of skin care products and whilst mine are aimed at dry/dehydrated skin you'll be able to find something targeted at your skin whether you are sensitive, combination, normal or oily.

I'll have reviews of the cleanser and moisturiser up next but for now, here's what i thought of the Thermal Water Spray.

Avene Thermal Water Spray*
This product most interested me from their range as i'd never really heard of anything like this before. I have since found that Avene aren't the only brand that do thermal water sprays though. This can be used any where on the body and is a real multi tasking product. It's specifically targeted at sensitive, hypersensitive, allergic and irritated skin. You just spray it on to the skin and it comes out as a very light mist. It can be used for the following: "sunburn, after anti-acne treatments, nappy rash, razor burn or hair removal" as well as after cleansing, setting make up and as a general refreshing spray.

What did i think?
I loved this product and without a doubt will no longer be with out it. My skin(especially my legs!) gets quite sensitive and dry, especially after shaving and i find some products just irritate it more but with this it takes away the redness and generally soothes. It's really hydrating and used after cleansing it works well. It gives that extra hydration that dehydrated skin craves.
As a make up setting/refreshing spray it works really well and gets rid of any cakeyness from foundation and makes it look nice and just applied. The spray comes out as a fine mist and the application is controllable so there's no worry of too much coming out and drenching you. They do a smaller version of this which would be better for travelling. It's one of those products that would be great for just chucking in your bag - especially in the summer.
We've had a couple of hot days here in England this week and unfortunately, being as pale as i am i got sunburnt. I was initially just going to use after sun lotion but opted for this instead. Not having to actually rub a lotion on the sunburn has been good and the actual spray really cools and again, it's been really soothing.

Avene Thermal Spring Water is available from Boots. 150ml for £6.50 or 50ml for £3.15 which is currently included in the 3 for 2 offer.

Empties

Another Empites post, i know, i know, there's been quite a few lately and i've got one more coming up after this then i'll start making them monthly - i'll explain that more in my next post. Personally i love both writing and reading them but i'm worried i'll annoy you all with too many posts hence the now monthly ones.
Ted Baker Body scrub - I really hated this. It had a pleasant scent and exfoliated well. So far so good until it left an awful residue. Moisturising but thick and oily and just plain horrible. I could still feel it the next day and it made shaving difficult. Even when i really scrubbed i could never get totally rid of the residue.
If you can get over the residue then it's a decent exfoliator for £6.50/300ml.
Repurchase? Hell no.

Pantene 2 min colour damage rescue mask - In general i stay away from Pantene as they contain silicone type ingredients that can cause a lot of build up and the last thing my hair needs is something like that but i thought this one off sample would be nice to try. I was really surprised at how healthy my hair looked and felt afterwards and would consider buying this - i've since tried their normal 2 min mask and thought it had no effect at all though! You can get this for around £3 so it's worth checking out.
Repurchase? Maybe.

Ted Baker Bath foam - Another TB product, you can tell i got a gift set at Christmas! I used this up really quickly as a little goes a long way really was not the case here. It made a nice amount of bubbles but left no scent or moisture. Definitely not worth £5.10!
Repurchase? No.

Murad Skin perfecting lotion - Another couple of free samples that i really enjoyed. I didn't notice any dramatic differences but my skin felt and looked a lot softer and just overall nicer. It's about £25 full size which is too pricey for me to purchase.
Repurchase? If i had the money.

FAB Gentle body wash - I didn't really think this did anything. It washed and that was all. No scent or added moisture/nourishment but i suppose if you're specifically wanting something gentle then this would be good. It's suppose to soothe sensitive/irritated skin and reduce redness but for me it didn't at all. Not worth the £10 price mark.
Repurchase? No.

Soap and Glory Face Wipes - I'm not an avid user of face wipes because i tend to give my skin a good wash every night but when i do need a quick fix these are the ones i go for. This is my third packet now. They provide 3 in 1 cleansing, toning and smoothing. They get rid of stubborn make up well and remove dead skin cells too. I find them quite gentle as well. £4.50 for 25 can be a bit pricey if you're using them every day but over all not a bad price.
Repurchase? Yes.

Jolie Box March

It seems like all the beauty boxes are trying to up their game lately, Glossybox joining with Harrods(Bit of a disappointment in my opinion! could have been better.) and then Carmine(who have now ended and joined with Glossybox!) including three full sized products. Jolie Box however have gone all out and provided us with four full sized products and a little extra.
As expected the box came with a drawstring bag containing the products and a card explaining why the products were in there and the over all theme. To sum it up - "It's a full-sized first for us and one that should put a real spring in your step!". This months box also came with a little magazine. It's got everything from meet the team, a tutorial, behind the scenes and lot's of beauty pages - i personally loved it. Along with that was a 20% off at the loveheartsandcrosses website with the code Jolie20.

The first item is the Davines moisturising balm that can be used on the hands, face and body. This was in a previous beauty box and i really wanted it but didn't get it so i'm actually quite chuffed to have received this now. I've heard such good things about it and it's definitely my kind of product.
Next the LCN nail care nail polish. I've never heard of this brand but i'm a nail polish junkie so it's more than welcome. It's a really pretty milky baby pink shade with subtle shimmer running through it. I haven't got a colour like this so again i love it. I gave it a quick test and it dried really quickly but was quite sheer.
Another product that's done it's rounds in the beauty boxes. I received a brown version of the Eyeko Skinny Liner in a previous beauty box and loved it. I'd be happy to get another one but the only other colours i like are the pale pink(eep i really want that one! If anyone has it and doesn't want it let me know!) and the black so unfortunately this Emerald green shade has gone straight to the blog sale. I can't stress enough how lovely these liners are, they stay all day and are so smooth on application but unfortunately green just isn't my colour.

I'm sure i recently received a Yardley London Peony perfume sample so to get the body wash was a nice surprise. It's a floral scent but it's not too stereotypically flowery(i hate that!) and i actually really like it. It almost smells a little bit sweet or maybe that's just my weird sense of smell.

If five full sized products wasn't enough JolieBox also threw in a personalised extra. I loved the JolieBox make up brush they sent out before so to get this little travel mirror was a real treat. It's gone straight in my make up bag!
I don't pay p&p on my boxes because of when i signed up, i would however happily pay the extra amount for my JolieBoxes are they've constantly been great.
What do you think of these products? What do you think of Joliebox?
